Range Rover Repair in Al Barari
Al Barari is dense, green and beautifully landscaped, which also means narrow lanes, tight turning circles and a lot of raised kerbing. Most of what we repair for owners here happened at under 10 km/h — and on a modern Range Rover, low-speed damage is no longer a cosmetic problem.

Why small knocks cost more than they used to

ToggleA Velar or an Evoque carries cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors in its bumpers, mirrors, windscreen and tailgate. A scuff that would once have been a paint job now involves electronics that have to be aimed correctly afterwards.
Camera and radar calibration is not optional
Reverse and surround cameras, the forward camera behind the windscreen and the radar behind the front badge all work to fixed reference angles. Move any of them a few millimetres and the car will still drive, but lane keeping, emergency braking and the surround view will be quietly wrong. We recalibrate to specification rather than refitting and hoping.
Parking sensors that read the hedge, not the wall
Al Barari's planting sits close to the driveway edges. Foliage confuses ultrasonic sensors, and owners often assume a sensor has failed when it is doing exactly what it was designed to do. Before replacing anything we check whether the sensor is actually faulty — it frequently is not.
Kerbed alloys and bent rims
Raised kerbs and low-profile tyres are a bad combination. A bent rim rarely looks bent; it shows up as a vibration at 100 km/h or a wheel that loses a few PSI a week. Both are repairable, and both are commonly misdiagnosed as balancing or a slow puncture.
Velar and Evoque: what actually goes wrong
These two models make up a large share of the cars we collect from Al Barari, and they have their own character. The Ingenium engines are strong but sensitive to oil quality and service intervals, particularly the timing chain arrangement on higher-mileage examples. Neglected oil changes are the single most common root cause we trace on this family.
On the electrical side, the touchscreen and infotainment systems account for a large share of complaints. Many are resolved with correct software rather than replaced hardware, which is a conversation worth having before you accept a quote for a new screen assembly.
We are independent, so we have no incentive to fit a part you do not need. If your fault is a software update, that is what you will be told.
Collection from Al Barari
We collect from The Residences, The Nest, Ashjar, Seventh Heaven and the villa clusters throughout Al Barari. The lanes are tight, so tell us when you book if access to your driveway is restricted and we will send a driver rather than a recovery truck wherever the car is safe to drive.
Collection and return is free, and the work is carried out at our Al Quoz workshop with genuine and OEM parts.
Up to 70% less than the dealer — and considerably more expert
Up to 70% less than the main dealer — and around 30% less than other independent specialists. For the same genuine and OEM components, fitted by technicians who work on nothing else. Every job is quoted as a fixed price before we start, and we never begin work you have not approved. If we open something up and find more than expected, you get a photograph and a phone call first, not a larger invoice at the end.
But price is the smaller half of the argument, and we would rather you chose us for the other half. We are Range Rover and Land Rover specialists and we work on nothing else. A general workshop sees one of these cars occasionally. We see them all day, which is why we recognise a fault from the description before the car arrives, why we know which components fail early in this climate, and why we can tell you when a repair is not worth doing.
What that expertise actually buys you
- Faults diagnosed properly rather than parts replaced one at a time until the warning light stops.
- Manufacturer-level diagnostic access, so we read the whole vehicle network instead of a single code.
- Genuine and OEM parts as standard — the same components the dealer fits, from the same manufacturers.
- Independent advice, because we have no parts quota and nothing to gain from selling you work you do not need.
Cheaper and better are not usually available together. On these cars, from an independent specialist, they are.
Questions we get from Al Barari owners
I kerbed a wheel and now the steering pulls slightly. Is that serious?
It needs checking properly. A kerb impact hard enough to change how the car tracks has moved something — usually alignment, sometimes a bent rim, occasionally a control arm. Driving on it wears a tyre out in weeks.
Do my cameras really need recalibrating after a bumper repair?
Yes, if a sensor or camera was disturbed or the bumper was removed. The car will not warn you that the calibration is out; it will simply make slightly wrong decisions. It is a short job and it is the difference between a proper repair and a cosmetic one.
My screen freezes and reboots. Do I need a new unit?
Very often not. A large proportion of infotainment faults on Velar and Evoque are resolved with the correct software level. We check that first, and we will tell you honestly if the hardware really has failed.
Can you quote from a photo?
Yes. Send clear daylight photographs on WhatsApp, straight on and at an angle, and we will give you a realistic range without you moving the car.
